Mequon Wellness Center is a patient focused primary care doctor’s office specializing in Family Medicine. We are Mequon’s first Direct Primary Care Clinic. Our goal is to provide high quality healthcare that is easily accessible at an affordable price.
Direct Primary Care is an innovative healthcare model that puts the patient first by eliminating the third party, insurance companies. This allows us to greatly reduce our operating expenses and pass those savings along to the patients, all while giving the highest quality primary care. It’s all about bringing back the way medicine used to be. Having a personal relationship with a physician who knows who you are and knows your personal health needs. The doctor patient relationship is just as the name suggests – direct.
No, membership is not an insurance plan.
No we do not accept traditional insurance or Medicare/Medicaid.
Yes. We recommend that our patients continue to carry both a major medical plan and when possible a health savings account to ensure financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary.
Two reasons. Quality of care and affordability. Often, the charges incurred for an office visit at Mequon Wellness Center are less than if we billed your insurance. If you have a high deductible plan, on average, your cost of an office visit at Mequon Wellness Center is 50-75% less than what is billed at a conventional clinic.
At the end of each visit you will receive a medically coded invoice that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement as an “out of network” provider. The only exception is if your insurance is Medicare or Medicaid. If you are insured by either of these programs, you cannot submit our invoice.
Of course. We might argue that everyone benefits from a service tailored directly for them. That’s why we offer custom healthcare. Our practice is devoted to the maintenance of your good health.

Yes. You need to sign a waiver declaring that neither your nor Mequon Wellness Center will directly bill Medicare for covered services. Your Medicare benefits will otherwise remain unchanged and can continue to be used for all other medical care received outside of Mequon Wellness Center.
In instances where this type of care is required, Dr. Lewis will work with any specialist.
